I’ve been watching this one for a while and I’m desperately hoping this will be to Spider-man as Arkham Asylum was to Batman (freaking awesome!).

Friday Video: Spiderman
The Horde guild
I’ve played around a bit with some Horde characters in the past, struggling to get to level 20. I’ve got a Shaman that has been going ok but has recently stalled at 36 and have just got a Blood Elf Death Knight out of the starting area.
There is one thing that constantly holds me back from putting any decent time into a Horde character though and that’s a decent guild. The Barthilas guild has been a massive success, far beyond what I thought was possible, so it’s hard to wander around by myself on Nagrand.
My Shaman has been in three guilds on Nagrand so far, all of which have been terrible. It seems to me a lot of people on Nagrand have caps-lock issues. Read the rest of this entry »
Friday Video: The Imperium of Man
MOAR WARHAMMER! The first playable race has been announce and (insert shock here) it’s the Imperium of Man. Nothing much in the trailer but maybe a few class hints with Tech Priests getting a mention. Jury is still way out on this game, but it’s a start.
Moar Drakes and.. almost.. Drakes
So whenever I edit videos it take me much, much longer than I actually anticipate, which is why this is so late and my girlfriend is mad at me. This has also left it very late and me very tired, so unfortunately this is going to be a super quick wrap up whilst my video is rendering and uploading to youtube.
Firstly the video is all about finishing up last week when we knocked over the last few achievements for Rukiar to get his mount. One wipe on Sindy before cleaning that up and going onto Blood Queen, who we were lucky to kill and also lucky to survive Naz’s vent rage, which we only heard because of a Ramp push-to-talk issue. Good for a laugh. Unfortunately Naz is actually a focused raider so I don;t actually catch a great deal of her on vent. Mind you it is hard to squeeze in a word edge wise with Hammy. Unreal Opportunities
It’s always with much hesitance I post on the official WoW forums, but Mad Hatters needs a tank pretty badly and I thought I’d take the opportunity to see if we can flesh out out Blog roster a little. This went out today.
I’d like to take a few moments to talk about some opportunities with Unreal Realities. For those that are not familiar with Unreal Realities, we are a small gaming community, currently focused primarily on World of Warcraft. We have a sizable World of Warcraft guild, a small presence on Steam – specifically MW2 – and a number of our members are beginning to play StarCraft II.
We cater for most players within Unreal Realities. From the hardcore to the casual, the excellent to the average. The only thing we ask is that you play nice with others. Abusive language or sexist/racist/homophobic behavior will not be tolerated.
While The Unreal Realities Barthilas guild no longer offers organized 25-man raids, we run five regular 10-man raid groups. Three of these groups have cleared ICC normal, two of which are currently 11/12 ICC Heroic. Read the rest of this entry »
Friday Video: Heroic Lich King
Pirates will be going up against Heroic Lich King in the next two weeks or so. This looks completely mental. Here is the Tankspot guide. Need a pally and a disc priest? Bah! Shaman FTW baby!
More Drakes
Well the plan this week was to go back in to ICC10 for Rukiar, Rumbrb and Funky’s Drake’s, but we were thwarted by bad weather, with a surge frying Rumbrb’s modem and killing his Drake dream. We did manage to secure Rukiar and Defunked their mounts though, so grats to them!
Edit: and of course there is Naz! She was the first of the those left to get her drake! Sorry I forgot ya!!
Here is the first half of the video. Yes, only one half. Because there is over 120 minutes of video that I need to sift through and I have no doubt that I have missed more than one thing, leading me to believe that I may need to delay these by a week so that I can actually go through it all properly.

Second?
Recently <The Typhoon Struggle> became the first 10s only raiding guild to kill The Lich King, as recorded by GuildOx. First off, massive congratulations to them. But this a is blog about us, so moving right along…
Server ranks used to mean a lot to me in Obsolete. We were always the bottom of the top, sitting at about 10th on server pretty much forever. We were the last raiding guild to kill everything, pretty much all the time, but we still killed everything. The best of the worst or the worst of the best?
Come Wrath I was really hoping we’d improve on our standings a little. With 3.1 and Ulduar I thought there was no reason we couldn’t push top 5 server. I soon discovered we were never really were good enough to mix it with the big boys and as I saw other guilds ripping through Ulduar – Gigantor clearing it in the first week! – while we struggled on XT, I knew that we would always be also rans. Understanding StarCraft multiplayer
Spankandgank, Unreal Realities resident StarCraft expert, recently posted a brief explanation of the StarCraft II multiplayer system on our forums. I’ve shamelessly stolen it – with his permission – so everyone can get some idea of exactly how it works.
So for those who are still trucking through the campaign and those who have not actually got around to getting StarCraft II yet (shame on you),
I thought I would go ahead and do a little write up on how the multiplayer actually works.
When you first login to your battlenet account on StarCraft II, you will instantly see there is a singleplayer and multiplayer tab. When you click
the multiplayer tab, it will instantly ask you if your new to the RTS genre, if so, it will place you in what is called the Practice league.
The practice league consists of 50 matches against other opponents who are also in the practice league. The difference between the practice league and the
official leagues is that the practice league will use the same maps as the official, but with slight modifications. In the practice league, the maps will most likely have destructible terrain blocking off the critical points of entry into your base. This is to stop early rushing and let the player get used to the game and the units involved. Read the rest of this entry »
