Putrid Lag

Well, what can I say except what many others have been saying for a few weeks now?

WE KILLED PROFESSOR PUTRICIDE!!

Despite having some absolutely horrid lag (from 600ms up to 1800ms) we managed to have our best night yet, managing to kill all of the following bosses:

  • Lord Marrowgar
  • Lady Deathwhisper
  • Gunship Battle
  • Deathbringer Saurfang
  • Festergut
  • Rotface (one shot!) – two healed!
  • Putricide (two shot!) – two healed!

We also cleared some trash and had two attempts at the Blood Princes, which looks like going down on Sunday. Needless to say, we were very happy with ourselves!

Blood_Queen_LanaSunday night was another great night. After re-clearing the trash we faced off against the Blood Princes and managed to down them after a few attempts. We had Ghostson, our Frost Mage, taking care of the beach balls, Rukiar our Death Knight on Keleseth (in tank spec), Rampduck on Valanar and myself on Taldarim. We decided to change our Keleseth tanking technique to our Death Knight because he managed to pick Keleseth up after our Warlock tank was gibbed and the healer reported that he was about the same difficulty to heal, even in DPS spec. I tanked Taladrim with Seal of Light and Judgement of Light because it gave me about 240hps (every little bit counts) and threat isn’t an issue as you can constantly popped Hammer of Wrath (great for picking him up after a wipe!). Fantastic kill!

Next was Blood Queen Lana’thel, who has some very interesting mechanics, requiring you to bite your fellow raid members, basically turning them into Vampires! Killing her was also fantastic, although I’m not sure where people get the idea that you should two heal it because raid damage looked fairly intense. One little trick that Rampduck discovered was that, as the OT, he stacked about 330 shadow resistance and it was reported that he actually took a very small amount of damage, making life much easier for the healers.

Two attempts on Valithria Dreamwalker had us thinking that it won’t take long to down. Looking forward to the raid this week and hopefully all of the reports of terrible lag might have blizzard doing something to fix it with shutdown tonight.

Stuff Nasi Liked:loot_banner

  • The changes to the heroic bosses. When they first came out, the mechanics of the bosses in heroic content made it more difficult, now its just annoying. Faster heroics is good for all!
  • Killing the Professor Putricide. We had spent about three weeks wiping on this guy and to get him down was just such a huge relief. I was honestly losing morale and to have it down, not to mention Blood Princes and Queen Lana’thel, is just fantastic and very restorative.
  • Having my account restored was like being reunited with an old friend. Although I did enjoy my play time with my Priest and Death Knight, I really missed raiding new content and giving my Paladin the love and attention he really deserved.
  • Upgrades! I have finally got my hands on some tasty, tasty upgrades! I replaced my Heroic Hodir Mace with this this tasty little piece from the Professor. I managed to sneak into the guilds ICC-25 and got my rep up with The Ashen Verdict, getting a shiny new ring! Then I organised a Toc-25 and got myself both a Trophy and some new boots. I feel quite spoilt this week and would love it if I could get my hands on a new shield from that gunship battle!
  • Whilst not necessarily a positive thing, I really liked that Unreal Realities, as a guild, gotten a little more backbone. Instead of turning a blind eye and giving the benefit of the doubt to our guildies, we actually cracked down on some of the shenanigans that was occurring in guild chat. People that had been spamming guild chat and making some lewd comments weren’t only whispered and told to tone it down a bit this week, they were just kicked or demoted. We don’t like asshats and had been putting up with them for too long!

    Valithria – Vok!

Staliin and I smashed the heals on Valithria (yes, I healed). Staliin helped me with spec specific for this fight. Ancestral Healing and Healing Way.

RT, HW, HW, CH, HW, HW. Rinse and repeat and repeat and repeat and repeat.

    So much KritZ!

Aye, it was late when we had our two cracks and we came close to one shotting it. I’m reasonably confident we’ll be looking at LK this raid week, lag permitting.
