Unreal Realities in Single Abstract Noun

Posted by Nazaniel On Friday, March 5, 2010 Community News, WoW

Some of you may have heard of Tamarind and Miss Medicina’s idea to start an all-blogger guild for a bit of fun and community-building between bloggers.  Despite the fact that <Unreal Realities> is not in fact a <Single Abstract Noun>, I headed over to Argent Dawn US last night for a bit of fun.

I rolled a draenei hunter (the only starting zone I can be bothered with anymore) named, unsurprisingly, Nazaniel, and joined the guild.

Sadly, due to Australian timezones, I missed the bulk of the US/Canadian bloggers, but I did get a chance to talk to a bunch of people about blogging, and guess everyone’s real class completely incorrectly from their blog name.

Over last night and this morning I had a chance to meet and chat to :

  • Domni from Soul Warding (I thought Warlock – actually Disc Priest)
  • Eus from Suicidal Healer
  • Kurn from Kurn’s Corner (I actually read this one already – it was like meeting a celebrity!)
  • Eversor from I Love Gnomes
  • Cranky Healer from… Cranky Healer (I thought Pallies were the cranky ones, but apparently a Tree)
  • Enlynn from Bubblespec (I thought Disc Priest but actually a Holy Pally)

Amusingly, I think every single person I spoke to was a healer, probably half of them are Holy Pallies, and three quarters were women.  Not sure what that says about our community :)

It was great fun, despite my embarrassment at getting everyone’s class wrong.  I’m hoping that I get time to log on on Saturday afternoon Australian time, which should be Friday night North American time, so that I can catch up with some more people!  You don’t have to be a blogger to log on and say hi, and it would be great to see a whole heap of Aussie bloggers and readers out on Friday night, kicking butt with some baby alts :)  See you there!

Yes I saw this on Miss Medicina’s blog yesterday and it’s on my list of things to do this weekend :)

I might even get on late after going out tonight to see if I can catch some of the US bloggers to say hi.

Haha, I loved being recognized as “the guy who hates the wow.com guy”. Particularly when I’m a girl. ;D It was great meeting you!

  3. A lot of people have pointed out just how many healers there are… and of course, the reason for that is that I am predominantly a healing blog – so most of my readers are healers!

Tam has a much larger audience of course, but even then – he’s still a priest. That’s why it’s good to see other roles promote it!

There is a bit of a delay in getting in the Aussies and Kiwis, but it’s growing big enough where there are plenty of Oceanic players in as well to help get the others invites XD

I just assume everyone is a boy! Which is probably wrong, especially considering all 3 commenters here are women :)
